UV printing on acrylic and plastics

UV printing on acrylic and plastics

UV printing applies full-colour graphics directly onto a plastic panel — light-cured ink bonds with the surface of acrylic, Dibond or PVC, giving a durable image resistant to abrasion and UV without a laminate. PLEXIPOL prints graphics in Warsaw on acrylic (PMMA), Dibond, PVC and other substrates — signs, panels, POS elements, with an optional white underbase for colours on clear acrylic. Quote based on graphic file and format.

What is UV printing

A UV printer applies ink directly to the panel and cures it instantly with a UV lamp. The graphic becomes part of the surface, not a sticker — resistant to abrasion, water and fading. On clear acrylic the key element is white underbase ink: without it colours appear semi-transparent; with it they are opaque and saturated. We combine printing with laser cutting when a part needs a custom shape.

Who it’s for

  • Advertising agencies and sign manufacturers — panels, signs, information boards, POS elements.
  • Companies ordering signage — nameplates, pictograms, wayfinding systems.
  • Designers and interiors — decorative graphics on acrylic and panels.

How the process works

  1. Enquiry and file — send graphics (vector or high-res raster) and panel format.
  2. Preparation — substrate and white underbase selection, layer order (face print vs. second-surface).
  3. Printing and finishing — UV print, optional shape cutting.
  4. Pickup/shipping — collect in Warsaw or courier delivery.

Why PLEXIPOL

Operating in Warsaw since 1995 (ul. Puławska 48). We combine UV printing with cutting, milling and bending — you get a finished part: printed, cut to shape and processed, from one place. We advise on white underbase and print direction (face vs. second-surface), which determines the look on clear acrylic.

FAQ

Is UV printing on acrylic durable?

Yes — UV-cured ink resists abrasion, water and fading; it also suits outdoor use (ink/varnish choice for conditions is agreed at enquiry).

Why a white underbase on clear acrylic?

Without a white layer, colours on a clear substrate appear semi-transparent. White underbase makes them opaque and saturated — essential for graphics on clear acrylic.

Can you print from behind (second-surface)?

Yes — “second surface” printing (mirrored, on the back of the clear sheet) protects the graphic with the acrylic surface and gives a depth effect. It requires mirroring the file and reversing the layer order.

Can a printed part be cut to shape?

Yes — we combine printing with laser cutting or milling.
