CNC milling of plastics to size
CNC milling is numerically-controlled machining — a spindle with a milling bit cuts the contour and 3D details from a plastic sheet according to a file, with repeatable accuracy regardless of quantity. PLEXIPOL mills acrylic (PMMA), PVC, Dibond, solid polycarbonate and other plastics in Warsaw — for materials the laser can’t cut (Dibond, aluminium up to 3 mm, thick sheets), 3D milling, or threaded holes. What is CNC milling
A milling router guides a rotating tool along a path defined by a vector file or model. Unlike a laser, which burns the contour, the mill mechanically removes material — so it can machine materials opaque to laser light (Dibond, composites, soft metals) and allows milling of pockets, grooves and 3D shapes, not just through-cutting.
We mill thicker acrylic, foamed PVC (Forex), Dibond (aluminium composite), polycarbonate and other technical sheets. For thin acrylic with a transparent edge, laser cutting is often faster.

How the process works
- Enquiry and file — send a file (DXF, DWG, AI, PDF, or a 3D model for spatial milling) or a description with dimensions.
- Quote — we select material, tool and machining strategy; for batches we optimise sheet layout.
- Production — milling to the agreed lead time, dimension checks.
- Pickup/shipping — collect in Warsaw or courier delivery.
We mill on our own stock or on material supplied by the customer.

FAQ
What’s the difference between CNC milling and laser cutting?
Laser gives a smooth, transparent edge on thin acrylic and is faster for simple contours. Milling machines materials the laser can’t cut (Dibond, thick sheets, aluminium), and allows 3D milling, pockets and threads.
Do you mill Dibond?
Yes — Dibond (aluminium composite) is a typical milling material; the laser can’t cut it. We mill contours, holes and routing cuts for panel bending.
Do I need a 3D model?
For 2D contour cutting a vector file (DXF/AI/PDF) is enough. Spatial (3D) milling needs a solid model — if you don’t have one, describe the part and we’ll advise.
What does a milled acrylic edge look like?
Matte/semi-matte after milling; if it needs to be transparent, we add edge polishing.
