Polymeric film (e.g. ORACAL 551) is a more durable counterpart of monomeric film — stronger, more dimensionally stable and with a much longer service life. It is used where the durability of the signage matters: facade lettering, company signage, long-term graphics and elements exposed to weather.
ORACAL 551 achieves an outdoor durability of up to 8 years (white and black) or about 7 years for colours, at a thickness of about 60–65 µm. Thanks to its greater stability it copes better with cutting fine detail and retains colour for years. It is a good compromise between economical monomeric film and premium cast film.
Selection and application
We select polymeric film for longer-lasting signage on flat and slightly curved substrates. We cut detail on the plotter, assemble it with transfer tape and apply it — also at the customer’s premises. We advise on the choice between 551 and cast film for surfaces with complex curvature.
