Rods and tubes made of plastics (acrylic/PMMA and polycarbonate/PC) are round-section elements that complement the range of sheets with three-dimensional forms. Acrylic rods are solid, transparent and impressively guide light along their axis (a fibre-optic effect), which is used in decoration and lighting. Acrylic and polycarbonate tubes have an annular section — they combine transparency with low weight, working well in display, protection and structures.
PMMA rods feature high transparency and gloss as well as ease of polishing and gluing. Polycarbonate tubes are much more impact-resistant than acrylic ones and better withstand mechanical loads. We cut both materials to size and prepare them for installation.
Processing and cutting to size
We cut rods and tubes to size to within a millimetre, polish the ends, drill and glue. PMMA rods can be diamond-polished to a glass effect, and tubes can be joined and closed with end caps. We advise on the choice of diameter and wall thickness for a specific application. Drilling and machining.
How to choose the diameter
Thin rods (3–10 mm) are used in decoration, modelling and light elements. Thicker ones (15–50 mm and more) — in structures, display bases and mechanical elements. Tubes are chosen by outer diameter and wall thickness, depending on the required stiffness and transparency. Browse all sample charts.
