Monomeric plotter film (e.g. ORACAL 641) is an economical, soft PVC film for cutting letters and graphics on a cutting plotter. It is the most frequently chosen material for short- and medium-term advertising: shop-window signage, lettering, simple graphics and interior decoration. Monomeric films are cheaper than polymeric and cast ones, but have lower durability and are not suitable for wrapping surfaces with complex curvature.
ORACAL 641 is about 70 µm thick, has an outdoor durability of 3–4 years and is available in a very wide palette of colours in gloss and matte finishes. It works well on flat, smooth substrates. For facade lettering and longer-lasting signage, polymeric or cast film is a better choice.
Selection and application
We match the film to the substrate, the service life and the colour from the brand identity. We cut letters and graphics on the plotter, assemble them with application transfer tape and — on request — apply them on site at the customer’s premises. We advise when a monomeric film is enough and when it is worth paying more for a more durable material.
