Laser cutting is a service of precise machining of plastics with a laser beam, giving a smooth, glossy edge without the need for additional mechanical processing. Compared to mechanical cutting (milling, saw), the laser provides much higher detail precision, a clean edge and the ability to cut complex, fine shapes — letters, logotypes, openwork patterns — that are hard to achieve by other methods.
We provide the service on most plastics in our range — acrylic (all variants), polycarbonate, PETG, dibond to a limited extent — and other advertising materials. Characteristic of laser-cut products is an aesthetic, smooth edge, which in acrylic and PETG additionally glazes slightly, giving an effect close to polishing without an extra processing step.
How laser cutting to size works
The process starts with preparing the design in a vector format (DXF, AI, CDR) or on the basis of a technical drawing supplied by the customer — we also help reproduce simple shapes from a photo or sketch. The laser cuts the contour to within tenths of a millimetre, which allows the production of repeatable elements in larger series without loss of precision between pieces.
Which materials and thicknesses we use laser cutting for
The laser gives the best results in acrylic and PETG up to about 20 mm thick — there the edge is smooth and glossy. Polycarbonate can be laser-cut, although the edge requires more attention due to the material’s different reaction to heat. The choice of laser power and speed depends on the material, thickness and required edge quality — we select them individually for each order.
