Coloured acrylic is mass-tinted acrylic glass (PMMA), available in a wide palette of colours — from intense opaque shades, through tinted transparent versions, to fluorescent ones. Mass tinting means the colour is uniform throughout the whole cross-section of the sheet, so it does not wear off or fade at the edges after cutting — unlike coloured films stuck onto clear plastic.
The material retains all the key properties of clear acrylic — UV resistance, ease of processing, the option of diamond polishing — with an added colour function that lets it fit a brand’s visual identity. Fluorescent versions glow under UV light, which is used in advertising and decorative elements with feature lighting.
Processing and cutting to size
We cut coloured acrylic to size by laser, which gives a smooth, glossy edge keeping the colour intensity without thermal discolouration. The material polishes, glues and engraves well — engraving coloured acrylic often reveals the clear layer beneath, used to striking effect in illuminated signs and panels. CNC milling to size.
How to choose coloured acrylic thickness and colour
For 3D letters and decorative elements 3–8 mm is usually enough. Thicker sheets (10 mm and more) are used in elements requiring greater rigidity without supports, e.g. in furniture or exhibition structures.
