ABS and HIPS are thermoplastic engineering sheets with a very limited stock colour range — both available mainly in white and black. This page covers stock colours, thicknesses and technical data for both materials.

ABS — standard stock colours

ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is a hard, impact-resistant engineering plastic. Available from stock in white, grey and black; natural (cream) is the uncoloured resin. Custom RAL colours on request from ~500 kg MOQ (Röchling Maywo).

Fire class	HB (UL 94); Maywoflamm V-0 — flame retardant grade
Processing	sawing, CNC drilling, bonding, painting, thermoforming

HIPS — standard stock colours

HIPS (high-impact polystyrene) is a lighter and more economical alternative to ABS, with a very limited colour range — effectively only white and black from stock. Other RAL colours require large MOQ.

Thicknesses	0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 mm
Standard formats	1000×2000 mm, 1220×2440 mm (cut to size)
Density	≈ 1.04 g/cm³ (similar to ABS)
Charpy impact	7–14 kJ/m² — lower than ABS
Operating temp.	−10°C to +65°C; heat deflection ~80°C
Fire class	HB (UL 94) — flammable; not for outdoor use
Processing	sawing, bending, laser cutting (produces fumes), thermoforming

ABS and HIPS have very limited stock colour ranges. For colour-critical projects, consider PVC foam board (17 through-colours) or PMMA acrylic (100+ colours). Custom RAL colours for ABS/HIPS — minimum order from 500 kg.
