Acrylic edge polishing (diamond and flame)
Edge polishing turns a matte, cut acrylic edge into a smooth, transparent one — diamond polishing gives a “glass-like”, mirror edge; flame polishing quickly smooths and clarifies the cut surface. PLEXIPOL polishes PMMA edges in Warsaw after saw cutting, milling or drilling — wherever the edge needs to look good: display cases, POS displays, decorative elements, furniture.
What is edge polishing
After saw cutting or milling, an acrylic edge is matte. Polishing restores transparency:
- Diamond polishing — a diamond blade removes a thin layer of material, giving a perfectly smooth, optically clear edge (“glass” effect). For straight edges and the highest aesthetic requirements.
- Flame polishing — a controlled flame softens and smooths the cut surface; faster, good for straight and slightly profiled edges, high gloss though not as “optical” as diamond.
Laser cutting polishes the edge during cutting itself — separate polishing is mainly needed after mechanical cutting or for particularly high optical requirements.
Who it’s for
- Display case, POS display and stand manufacturers — a visible, elegant edge.
- Furniture and interiors — fronts, shelves, decorative acrylic elements.
- Premium applications (museum cases, aquariums, luxury-brand POS) — diamond polishing.
How the process works
- Enquiry — provide the part (or order alongside cutting), edge type and required quality.
- Method selection — diamond (highest quality, straight edges) or flame (fast, high gloss).
- Production — polishing the specified edges.
- Pickup/shipping — collect in Warsaw or courier delivery.

Why PLEXIPOL
Operating in Warsaw since 1995 (ul. Puławska 48). We combine polishing with cutting and milling in one cycle — parts leave cut and polished, without passing between plants. We advise when flame polishing is enough and when diamond is needed.
FAQ
Diamond or flame — which to choose?
Diamond for the highest optical quality and straight edges (display cases, premium). Flame when you need fast, high gloss at lower cost.
Do I need to polish the edge after laser cutting?
Usually not — laser polishes the edge during cutting. Separate polishing is used after saw/mill cutting or for premium optical requirements.
Do you polish edges after drilling holes?
Outer edges yes. Hole interiors require different processing — describe the part and we’ll advise.
